Candidates:
Men, women, and couples aged 16 to 60. Candidates aged 16 to 18 can only be employed together with their parents.
Place of work: Obsza.
Salary:
Payment depends on the type of berries picked. A separate rate applies to each type:
- Strawberries — 2 zł per kilogram picked;
- Blueberries — from 18 zł per box weighing approximately 4 kg;
- Raspberries — from 6 zł per kilogram picked;
- Blackberries — from 5 zł per kilogram picked;
- Other agricultural work — from 23 zł per hour;
- An advance payment can be received after 7–10 days of work;
- Salary is paid in cash by the 10th day of each month for the previous month worked.
Work schedule:
- Flexible shift schedule;
- Days off may fall on weekdays, Saturdays, or Sundays;
- The working day usually starts at around 07:00;
- The length of the working day depends on the amount of harvest and averages between 6 and 11 hours;
- Breaks can be taken during the working day as needed;
- Work is performed only during daytime hours.
Accommodation:
- Accommodation is provided free of charge in mobile homes or houses located near the workplace;
- Rooms are shared by 2–4 people;
- Separate rooms are provided for couples and families whenever possible. Separate apartments suitable for families of up to 4 people are also available;
- The accommodation has both single and bunk beds;
- Workers should bring their own bed linen. If necessary, it can be provided on site;
- The accommodation has everything necessary for a comfortable stay: an equipped kitchen and dining area, showers, toilets, washing machines, refrigerators, and Wi-Fi. In some houses, each room has its own refrigerator;
- Depending on the location of the accommodation, there may be shops, a pizzeria, and sports facilities nearby;
- Some houses have recreational areas, barbecue areas, and volleyball courts. There may also be a forest and a river nearby;
- If there are no shops nearby, a mobile shop regularly visits the accommodation where necessary groceries can be purchased.
Type of employment contract: Umowa zlecenie.
Required documents: Employment is possible under the visa-free regime, with a visa, or with a residence card.
Duties:
- Picking blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
Additional information:
- The work is seasonal and is available until the end of November;
- Free accommodation is provided near the workplace, making it convenient to get to work on foot;
- Workers must have their own work clothes and comfortable footwear;
- Payment is based on a piece-rate system, meaning earnings depend on the amount of berries picked;
- There are no mandatory picking quotas: everyone works at their own pace, and earnings depend on individual productivity;
- Berries are picked while standing, so there is no need to work constantly in a bent or stooped position;
- Most raspberry picking takes place in greenhouses approximately 100–125 meters long;
- Raspberries must be picked carefully and placed into small containers holding 125–250 g. Most commonly, 125 g containers are used;
- During one picking round, a worker usually fills 2 boxes of raspberries with a total weight of approximately 3–4.5 kg. Once filled, the boxes must be taken to the collection point, handed in, and then the worker returns to continue picking;
- If raspberry picking finishes earlier, workers can switch to other types of work, such as picking strawberries or blackberries or performing various agricultural tasks;
- There is usually enough additional work available, so workers can extend their working day if they wish.
