Frequently Asked Questions

In terms of convenience, it is worth noting the systems that allow you to transfer money online, using Polish and crediting to a bank card. TransferGo allows you to make transfers for free, but at the cost of time. Paysend, on the other hand, offers instant transfers for a fixed fee. Both systems offer bonuses in the form of referral programs. In turn, TransferWise bets on multi-currency and is more suitable for freelancers whose counterparties are located in different countries of the world.

The giants Western Union and MoneyGram continue to bet on customers from the offline world who prefer to deal with cash. Speed wins here. You can receive money in a bank branch of another country a few minutes after sending. But it can be expensive and not always convenient - you have to go to the branch, and they are not open 24 hours a day. If you need to make an instant transfer from online to offline - WU is an excellent choice.

SWIFT transfers are aimed at rather large sums of money, when security is of primary importance - the cost and speed of the transfer are secondary here.

Prices for Polish taxis vary depending on several factors, including whether the trip occurs during the day or night, within the city, in the suburbs, or to a neighboring town, as well as whether the passenger has luggage, etc. There is a kind of division into three tariffs: the first, cheapest tariff - travel within the city; the second, more expensive, is applied when traveling outside the city; the third, most expensive, is for travel from one Polish city to another. The cost of the first tariff starts from 2 zlotys per kilometer (in corporations that have set the lowest price). There are companies that offer more expensive services here as well. When traveling outside the city limits, the so-called second tariff comes into effect, and the price of the trip increases by 50%. This tariff also applies on weekends and on days considered national or religious holidays. If it is necessary to travel to a neighboring city or municipality, the cost increases by another 50% (or twice the initial tariff). This is the third tariff, which is called "return," meaning the passenger effectively pays for the return of the empty car to the home city.

Taxi calling. Another great innovation is that in Poland, there is a single number for calling taxis, which is very easy to remember - 919. Additionally, you can use landline phones of various services. For example, in Warsaw, the following companies operate: Express Taxi - phone 196 63; Gold Taxi - phone 196 88; Super Taxi - phone 196 22; City Warsaw - phone 194 59.

There are numerous booking services for hostels in Poland, one of which we have specifically tested – booking.com. Other services are similar and differ only slightly, but we can recommend only the one we have tested ourselves. Be cautious when booking online – use only verified services. Otherwise, there is a risk of paying scammers and not receiving the ordered services.

Using the booking.com portal is quite simple – you just need to fill in all the fields of the request form and get the result. Let's imagine a short instruction on how to book a place in a hostel:

1. On the main page, select the hostel's address. To do this, enter the city in the "Place" field, and then a full list of available accommodations will be provided. You need to select a specific address or choose from all the offers in the city.
2. Specify the duration of your stay – the check-in and check-out dates.
3. The next section is "Are you traveling for work?" where you need to select "yes" or "no."
4. Select the number of people – separately for children and adults.
5. Click the "Check prices" button.
6. You will be provided with a full list of possible offers where you can book a room in a hostel. Pay attention that on the left, there will be a menu with a wide range of additional criteria "Select by criteria" – this will help narrow down the list of offers according to specific requests. First of all, you need to check the box in the "Hostels" section.
7. In the top menu, next to the language selection, there is a "Currency choice" item – you can set it in any currency or choose "Hotel currency."
8. When you click on a specific hostel offer, a page with detailed information will open. A little lower, the available rooms and their cost will be listed.
9. Select the appropriate one. To do this, in the row of the table with its description, in the "Select room" column, specify the room number (from the list provided).
10. After specifying the room, the "I'm booking" button will appear in the right column, which you should click.
11. Next, a potential resident's form will be offered for completion. The questions are standard, but it is important to remember that the full name must be filled in Latin letters, according to the spelling in the foreign passport.
12. Click the appropriate button and complete the booking.

For greater convenience, it is better to register on the booking.com website, linking your payment card to your profile. In this case, all payments will be made automatically, and checking in at a hostel in Poland will be easier.
